I've loved romance novels since...like forever. I read across most subgenres of romance. I also write fantasy/paranormal and new adult romance.
Very thorough overview of how each plot works from beginning to end of a story. Divides plots into character-driven and action-oriented. There were lots of examples--some from literature, some from movies--which helped. However, the writing style is quite dry and some of the examples feel very dated. The pub date I have is 1993, but it reads much older than that, at least to me.
Still, the best things about this book are the lists of tips after each plot overview. Super, super helpful about what to focus on and what is less important. At this point, the book is recommended reading, but didn't make it to my keeper shelf.
